The concept behind “River Perspective” evolved through a narrative of place. Plastic pollution in our rivers is a major problem, the installation aims to convey a message highlighting the damage our natural world is undergoing.
The proposed installation is to be purely constructed from recycled plastic from our oceans and rivers. The frame is constructed from strengthened recycled plastic, with one volume to be wrapped in semi-opaque plastic sheeting the other in shrink wrap. The third volume will artistically reference the amount of plastic found in the worst areas of our oceans, by casting the collected plastic waste into a resin block equal to the amount found in the proportion of water represented.
